The M20E Ex and M20W carry II 2G c IIB T3, as does the GP 20/10 Ex, for pumping fuels and solvents in a classified area.
The GUP 3-1,5 is built to DIN 14427, the German firefighting equipment standard, on a fire-brigade carrying frame.
The M20H takes 13 MPa hydraulic feed and the M20P 0.6 MPa air, so a tank vehicle drives the pump with what it already has.
The medium only touches the hose, so fuels and solvents never reach a seal or a valve.
Crane rates dry suction height at 9.5 mWs, so it empties a tank or a spill from above without a foot valve.
About the Crane ELRO Series M
The Series M exists because the duties Crane aims it at rarely have clean three-phase power to hand. Petrol stations, tank vehicles, airports, ports and fire and rescue work all mean pumping something flammable, somewhere awkward, often in a hurry.
The M300 is the base pump, and the drive is what you choose. The electric M20E gives 18 m³/h at 1.5 bar. The petrol M20B, diesel M20D, hydraulic M20H, pneumatic M20P and water-turbine M20W all reach 20 m³/h at 2 bar. A change-pole M21E gives you 9 or 18 m³/h from one machine.
Alongside the M300 sit two fire-service builds. The GUP 3-1,5 is the DIN 14427 unit at 98.4 kg, CSM hose only. The GP 20/10 Ex is the ATEX version at 90.4 kg, in CSM or NBR. Both give 9 or 18 m³/h at 1.5 bar and are IP55.
The trade-off is the same as the rest of the mobile range: 2 bar is the ceiling. If the duty needs pressure rather than portability, the Series IP and XP is the range that goes to 13 bar.
How the ELRO Series M works
A rotor squeezes the hose flat against the pump body and carries the trapped volume to the discharge. The hose springs back behind the shoe and draws the next charge in. An integrated vacuum system keeps the flow rate constant as the duty changes.
Because the hose is the only wetted part, there is no mechanical seal for a fuel or a solvent to attack and nothing to leak into a classified area. The hose wears, and replacing it is the maintenance you plan for.

Is the ELRO Series M ATEX rated?
Three builds are classified II 2G c IIB T3 — the M20E Ex, the M20W water turbine and the GP 20/10 Ex. The standard M300 builds are not, so specify the Ex variant if the area is classified.
What drives can the ELRO M300 take?
Electric, petrol, diesel, hydraulic, pneumatic and water turbine. That matters on a tank vehicle or a fire appliance, where hydraulic or air is already available and mains power is not.
